Throughout the day, our blood pressure or BP would vary depending on certain factors.

Many these days have high BP or hypertension etc. There are some people who keep BP under their control by making a few lifestyle changes like diet, doing exercises etc. Other persons with BP take medicines to keep BP under their control. Uncontrolled BP could lead to heart diseases etc. There exists a relation between zinc and blood pressure.

Truth is that zinc deficiency is common in those with chronic kidney disease or CKD and in those with diabetes etc. It is noteworthy that in these patients there is an increased likelihood of hypertension.  There are few symptoms of BP like headaches, vision issues, fatigue, nosebleeds, irregular heartbeat etc.

Various zinc rich foods that we would consume to keep BP under control are

Intake of nuts:
Various nuts such as cashew nuts, peanuts and almonds etc are rich in zinc In addition, these foods also provide us with healthy fats plus vitamins, fibres etc that are needed for us. For higher zinc intake, we could eat cashew nuts with high zinc content.

Intake of dairy products:

Vegetarians especially can eat dairy products rich in zinc. Examples are milk, cheese and yoghurt etc. These foods also have high levels of bioavailable zinc and this would make the absorption of zinc in the body better.

Intake of eggs:

These days many of us eat eggs. It must be noted that eggs have zinc plus proteins, vitamins, minerals etc. The daily requirement of zinc could be met by consuming eggs.

Intake of dark chocolates:

High amounts of zinc are present in dark chocolates etc. By eating dark chocolates, we could get iron, magnesium and antioxidants etc.

Intake of oats:

Both proteins as well as fibres are available in huge amounts in oats. We would feel full by eating oats is known. By consuming oats we would be able to control BP, avoid heart diseases etc.

Intake of meat:

Proteins, iron and vitamin B are present along with zinc in non vegetarian foods like meat etc. For better nutrition, we must avoid highly processed meat intake.
