Sathanur Dam has been built across the Thenpennai River located between the Chenna-Kesava Mountains. Sathanur Dam is one of the more important and notable dams in Tamil Nadu.
It has a capacity of 119’. Presently, the water stands at 83.65’.Up to 7321 million cubic feet of water can be stored in this dam. Presently, 1824 million cubic feet of water is stored here.
சாத்தனூர் அணை திருவண்ணாமலை மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள சென்னகேசவ மலைகளுக்கு இடையில் தென்பெண்ணையாற்றின் குறுக்கே கட்டப்பட்டுள்ள அணையாகும். தமிழகத்திலுள்ள குறிப்பிடத்தக்க அணைகளுள் இதுவும் ஒன்று.
இந்த அணையின் முழு கொள்ளளவு 119 அடியாகும். தற்போது அணையில் 83.65 அடி தண்ணீர் உள்ளது. அணையில் 7321 மில்லியன் கன அடிவரை தேக்கி வைக்கலாம். தற்போது 1824 மில்லியன் கன அடி தண்ணீர் தேக்கி வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
